Our facility in Desselgem

MGC Subcontracting is firmly rooted in Desselgem, where as part of Matthys Group we build on a rich history of metal craftsmanship. What once started as a small family workshop has grown into a modern, dynamic site where innovation and tradition reinforce each other. In our production halls everything comes together: smart machines, experienced craftsmen and the typical West Flemish ‘get on with it’ mentality.

An exceptionally extensive and modern equipment fleet

We are one of the few players who can handle both large turning work up to 8 metres and large milling work up to 12 metres. We can also process complex parts with multiple operations in-house thanks to our Integrex and multitask machines.

We combine efficient working methods with a smartly organised equipment fleet divided into work cells, each with one operator, allowing us to produce our parts at competitive prices.

Everything under one roof: from raw material to finished part

In addition to turning, milling and the production of rollers, we offer numerous finishing operations such as welding, coating, tube lasering, wire EDM and quality control. This means our customers don't have to switch between multiple suppliers and the entire process is managed by one party.

Flexible production: from single parts to series

Customers can come to us for single parts, prototypes and small to medium series. By working in cells, operators can control multiple machines simultaneously, allowing series work to be produced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Highly skilled craftsmen with strong planning and programming work

Our turners and millers specialise in reading technical plans and programming machines themselves, which is crucial for the many component variants and smaller series we produce. Their skills are the key to the quality and reproducibility of every part.

Advanced quality control with 3D measuring machine

With our Wenzel measuring machine we carry out accurate measurements and can deliver quality reports when customers require them. Our internal knowledge of measurement work has grown considerably in recent years.

Future-oriented production environment

Sustainability

Sustainability is increasingly becoming part of daily operations at MGC Subcontracting. 

We invest consciously in technologies and processes that reduce our impact, such as a chip compactor. This chip press reduces the volume of chip waste by 85%. The briquettes are compact to store, easy to handle and simple to transport. The press also extracts the cooling emulsion from the chips. That emulsion goes back to the cooling tank. This makes the remaining material purer, allowing the scrap to be better recycled. And the coolant can be used longer, which is better for the environment.

Within our production halls we also focus on more efficient working methods, reducing waste and optimising energy consumption. Our buildings are equipped with solar panels and charging points for electric vehicles. By continuously modernising and further improving the sustainability of our infrastructure, we are building a future-oriented production environment that is both efficient and environmentally conscious.
